"Its Not Even Past" Fundraiser Update/Reminder

An update from my brother and his friend, Tim Mansfield, about the fundraiser this weekend (to see the original announcement with directions, click here):

Hi Everyone,

This is just a friendly reminder that we’ll be doing a silent auction
fundraiser this Saturday, August 7th, at the Briarcliffe American Legion in Glenolden from 8pm to midnight. The proceeds raised will help us to pay for costs associated with bringing “It’s Not Even Past” to the Walnut Street Theatre – Studio 5, where it will run from September 2-12 as part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. If you’d like to come, please give us a call at 484 459 9001 or email Tim at mansfield9@hotmail.com.

For those of you who have already responded, we look forward to seeing you and anyone you’d like to bring. For those of you who haven’t, we hope you’ll be able to come out. Along with serving up delicious food and catchy music, we’ll be auctioning off loads of cool items, such as Phillies tickets, tickets to a show in New York City, gift certificates for dinners at restaurants in Philadelphia and Manhattan, a round of golf, Cuban cigars, a haircut and color for the ladies, and lots more.

If all of this sounds great but you just can’t make it that night, we certainly understand (though we are going to need to see a note from your doctor). Luckily, attending the fundraiser is not the only way you can help us bring the play home. Another way to give us a hand is by telling your family, friends, co-workers and complete strangers about the play. The action takes place in the Philadelphia area, so there are plenty of familiar references for anyone whose ever eaten at Rita’s, dodged potholes on MacDade Boulevard, gone through the drive-thru at Swiss Farms, or known the all-encompassing frustration of being a Phillies fan. We’re looking to pack the house in September so spreading the word is critical.

Or, if you’d like to make a donation to the play, you can mail checks payable to Push Productions – the non-profit theater company producing the show – to 122 St. Marks Place, #6, New York, NY 10009. If you’re technologically-minded, you can make a contribution online by visiting www.pushproductions.net and clicking on the “Make a Donation” button. Be sure to include the play’s title, “It’s Not Even Past,” in the space labeled “Payment For.”

Well, that’s about it from this end. Thanks so much for your support, guys. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone this Saturday. Arrive armed with your friends, your appetites, and an undying willingness to bid your way into our hearts and pick up some awesome prizes along the way (we can do cash and checks but no credit cards, I’m afraid).

Best wishes…

Tim and Michael

Floatilla 2004!!!

All I can say at this point (and luckily, I get to type this since I still don't have my voice back yet), is that Floatilla ROCKED!! Everything that you may have heard (or at least that I had heard) sounded, I'll admit, a bit exaggerated, but the reality is that the stories don't even come close.

From the quiet before the storm (Friday night) through 1000 people partying in the bay by the Floatilla House to the P (can I get a barstool, please??), the pics cover the whole day.

Despite the fact that a noise violation pretty much canned the bands right from the start (2:30pm) and the fact that some people were stuck in major traffic getting down, I think just about everyone in Avalon was in attendance (which may have been helped by the article in the Beachcomber newspaper..)

Props to the Floatilla House (aka the Crackhouse) crew for throwing the biggest and, without a doubt (although I may be a bit biased) best party of the summer!!! Bring on Tour De Shore!!!

No pics from Sunday night. Mariani, Henley, Casey, Johnny and I hit the Rocking Chair then down to Stone Harbor to Freds then the OD for Happy Hour in Sea Isle, then swung back, picked up Oz (Happy Birthday, dude!) and headed back to the Rocking Chair for G Love. Awesome night. Awesome weekend. Ugh. I need a nap.

Jim

PS. Doesn't Oz look very official with that clipboard!!??!! Way to be organized, Birthday Boy!!
